June 06, 2009 - FolkHeart Press and Key Business Partners invite writers to participate in the “A Dad in the Kitchen” online personal essay contest. Contest deadline is June 9 and the winning essay will be selected by June 17.
In keeping with the FolkHeart Press’ mission to encourage people to write their own family folktales, this writing competition provides an opportunity for writers to submit an essay about one dad in their lives whose in the kitchen or at the bbq makes him a folkhero. Dad can be relative, best friend, or community member.
Entrants will be asked to post their essay on their blogs or websites. The winner will be selected by the readers and prizes will include a copy of Barcelona Chef Eduardo Balaguer’s Spanish Cuisine One Region at a Time: Catalonia (FolkHeart Press ebook) and a CD by renowned Spanish Guitarist Eric Symons.
