The project was initiated to learn how prospective college students want to obtain program information from colleges and universities as well as what kinds of information students want to know about the schools they are applying to. Research was conducted through a voluntary survey distributed through Facebook.com.
The survey, sponsored by FMI, was conducted by students participating in the Boston University AdLab program. The purpose of the survey was to learn how today’s students’ access information about prospective higher education programs, what information is important to them and to gather student opinions about college and university websites and web content. Specifically students were asked what kind of information they would like to see presented in web video format. The simple ten question survey revealed some valuable information for college and university marketing, admissions and alumni development professionals.
