New York, NY (1888PressRelease)
September 22, 2009 - As a new local brand itself, Fire Island Beer Company will be on hand to help celebrate the first birthday of another newcomer to New York's food and drink culture.
Fire Island Lighthouse Ale will be one of the local craft brews available at Edible Manhattan's annual Fall Fête on Saturday September, 26th from 4-8 p.m., at the South Street Seaport in lower Manhattan.
In May, Fire Island Beer Company launched Fire Island Lighthouse Ale, the first of its many upcoming offerings, which may be found on tap at dozens of bars and restaurants and in bottles at hundreds of convenience and grocery stores. Now that fall is here, Fire Island Beer Company is helping to kick off the harvest season with Edible Manhattan, a publication dedicated to connecting consumers with family farmers, growers, chefs, and food artisans of all kinds.
"As a local brewer who creates our micro-brew recipes on Fire Island, located just 50 miles from Manhattan, we have certainly benefited from the increased desire of consumers wanting to drink products made locally. We are very pleased to be participating in this one-year anniversary celebration of Edible Manhattan, which has done a wonderful job bringing attention and support to local food and beverage makers," Fire Island Beer Company co-founder Jeff Glassman said.
Since Fire Island Lighthouse Ale is a beer for all foods and all seasons, it will go well with all the foods from local chefs and restaurants that will be available at Edible Manhattan's Fall Fête, which will take place at the corner of Fulton and South streets.
Also, due in November, Fire Island Beer Company will release its second offering, Fire Island Red Wagon IPA.
Tickets for the Fall Fête cost $40, or half-price if you subscribe to Edible Manhattan. Click on www.ediblemanhattan.com.

Jeff Glassman
