(1888PressRelease) September 06, 2008 - The French Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain (FCCGB) will celebrate, in November 2008, the sixth anniversary of the Franco-British Business Awards (FBBA). Every year, the FCCGB organises the Franco-British Business Awards, whereby two prizes (Exporter of the Year and Achievement of the Year) are awarded to four companies (two British and two French). The awards are designed to encourage and promote the bilateral trade and economic links that exist between France and the UK. The deadline for applications is 19 September 2008.

The French Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain (FCCGB) invites all Franco-British businesses that are confident they have achieved considerable commercial success in the past year to submit their entries. The FBBA event is free to enter.

The prizes will be awarded at the Franco-British Business Awards Dinner that will take place on 3 November 2008 at the Mayfair Hotel (in Central London), with Ms Anne-Marie Idrac, France’s State Secretary for Overseas Trade, and Lord Digby Jones, Britain’s Minister of State for Trade & Industry, as Guests of Honour and Keynote Speakers.

Ian Taylor, General Manager for Market Development at Flybe, while referring to the 2007 Award that his company was given, explains: “The acknowledgement of Flybe by the French Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain is a major milestone for us. Unlike many purely aviation-industry awards, Flybe was pitched against a whole range of very experienced and diverse companies and, therefore, winning this award from an industry sector that may not normally be associated with ‘business export’ was particularly gratifying.”

Companies taking part in the FBBA 2008 event will be able to win the following prizes:

• Free active annual membership of the French Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain, worth £550;
• Two hours of free business-management consulting, offered by BDO Stoy Hayward (event sponsors);
• Two hours of free corporate legal advice, offered by Cripps Harries Hall LLP (event sponsors);
• A weekend for two people in a Relais Châteaux hotel resort in the UK (stay and flights included), offered by Relais Châteaux, in conjunction with Flybe;
• Press coverage in INFO, which is FCCGB’s bi-monthly magazine INFO;
• Inclusion in a specific press-relations promotional operation aimed at the British press – in the form of a press release announcing the awards’ result – to be carried out by the French Technology Press Bureau (FTPB) on behalf of FCCGB, worth £750. FTPB is the London press bureau of UBIFRANCE, France’s export-support agency.

The FBBA event is free to enter. For more details or to download an application form, please go to www.ccfgb.co.uk.

Alternatively, please contact Ms Marie-Anne Taillon on 020 7092 6642 (direct telephone line) or mtaillon ( @ ) ccfgb dot co dot uk (email address) dot

The event is sponsored by BDO Stoy Hayward, Cripps Harries Hall LLP (Solicitors) and Citroën.
