August 20, 2009 - Farella Braun + Martel adds attorney Tiffanie De Liberty, former vice president and senior counsel for the Kendall-Jackson family of companies, to the firm as special counsel. De Liberty joins in the St. Helena and San Francisco offices and will focus on alcohol and beverage industry issues, including work with the firm’s hallmark wine practice.

During her tenure with Jackson Family Wines, the Santa Rosa, Calif. maker of Kendall-Jackson and over 40 other premium wine brands, De Liberty focused on alcohol beverage trade practices; sales and marketing-related issues; regulatory compliance; shipping and distribution; intellectual property; and litigation. De Liberty was also deeply involved in wine-related company contracting, including: grape purchase, custom crush, supply, distribution, marketing and IT agreements, as well as winery and vineyard leases. She managed the company’s more than 125 trademarks for domestic and foreign wine and all litigation. This earned De Liberty the Chairman’s Special Recognition Award for outstanding service in 2006.
Prior to joining Jackson Family Wines, De Liberty was a member of the corporate practice at Latham & Watkins.
De Liberty is a member of the State Bar of California and Illinois, the Association of Corporate Counsel, Corporate Counsel Women of Color, International Trademark Association and The University of Chicago Bay Area Chicago Society. She also dedicates time to and served on the Board for Legal Aid of Sonoma County. De Liberty earned her J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School (1995) and her B.A. from The University of Chicago (1992).
