  • Washington, DC-MD-VA-WV (1888PressRelease) October 16, 2014 - Executive spotlights are in-depth Q&A's which ExecutiveBiz conducts with numerous chief and top-level executives in GovCon.

The intimate access afforded by these interviews provides insight as to how companies are acquiring new business, what the future holds and the personal side of corporate leaders.

ExecutiveBiz recently published a spotlight with Joe DiZinnio of American Systems' identity analytics support business unit.

He discussed his plans for AMERICAN SYSTEMS' pursuits in the identity intelligence market and his teaching experience at a local University.

He discussed what he sees ahead for American Systems in the intelligence community.

"AMERICAN SYSTEMS currently works with the federal government in fingerprint and video analysis processing for federal law enforcement, homeland security and the intelligence community. They are certainly looking to expand their current capabilities and move into other appropriate areas in biometrics and forensics," DiZinno said.

Joe spoke about biometrics and forensics and how they are used together for law enforcement.

"Biometrics and forensics go hand in hand. They both involve the collection and preservation of unknown features and comparing those features to either a database of known characteristics or a one-to-one comparison of individual characteristics in an effort to identify an individual. There is also an identity intelligence analysis component in addition to collection, preservation and comparison of forensic/biometric characteristics in order to provide identity," he said.

Joe also discussed his teaching position at George Mason University and the opportunities teaching provides for leaders in industry.

"George Mason has a Forensic Science undergraduate program as well as a Forensic Science Masters degree program. I teach both graduate-level and undergraduate level courses and assist graduate students with their graduate research projects. I see that as a positive opportunity for industry leaders such as AMERICAN SYSTEMS to collaborate with academia and help advance the science, whether it be fingerprints, DNA, facial recognition, video analysis or any biometric/forensic modality," DiZinno said.

Executive Mosaic's portfolio of more than five media platforms serves to inform executives from across GovCon and the defense sector of the events, people and companies that shape their industry.
