EX Coach Accuses Childhood Obesity Experts Of Prolonging The Problem

Childhood obesity experts (academicians) are paid to study the the problem, not to solve it! Solving this problem actually kills the goose that lays the golden eggs. The incentive is to prolong or confuse the problem?

Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) April 06, 2008 - Kids who can do pull ups are never obese. So, kids who learn to do pull ups are naturally immunized against obesity for life, as long as they maintain the ability. And helping kids learn to do pull ups is easy…if you know how. Now, wasn’t that simple?

But according to ex-physical educator/coach Rick Osbourne, “When you say something like that out loud, it’s like announcing the emperor is wearing NO CLOTHES. The experts (i.e. the academicians) are being paid millions of dollars to STUDY the problem, NOT TO SOLVE IT! The minute they solve the problem, their grant money dries up and blows away. Where’s the incentive to solve the problem? A real solution kills their golden goose.” Osbourne said.

Operation Pull Your Own Weight
With the issuing of that challenge, Osbourne recently published a book entitled Operation Pull Your Own Weight: A Radically Simple Solution to Childhood Obesity (yep, it’s on Amazon) with which he hopes to turn the tide on obesity once and for all. His target audience is action oriented parents and teachers who are tired of depending on experts to solve this problem. “The childhood obesity issue has been brewing for well over a decade” Osbourne said. “And with academia leading the charge, the problem has grown dramatically worse. In fact I’m convinced they’re being paid to prolong the problem, and to avoid solving it.”

Challenging Action Oriented Parents and Teachers
In his new book Osbourne also challenges parents and teachers to forget the experts, take action, and to solve the problem themselves with an utterly simple, common sense solution.

In Osbourne’s words, “This book is designed to give parents and teachers the tools they need to begin solving this problem today! It’s cheap. It’s simple. Anyone can understand and implement it…IF YOU WANT TO! On the other hand, if you want to give the issue lip service instead, leave it to the experts. That’s their REAL strength,” he said.
