September 10, 2008 - Not only does the website – http://emploi.eurosima.com – offer information on the boardsports sector in general, it is also a platform for the industry’s major recruiters, training centres and job seekers. European boardsports businesses and people seeking employment in the sector now have an invaluable tool, designed by and for boardsports enthusiasts.
While there is heavy demand for some positions (for example, roles in marketing, communications and events management), the sector is experiencing difficulties in recruiting for certain specific jobs, especially in sales and design. EuroSIMA’s objective is to increase awareness of the wide and ever-changing range of positions on offer: 80 detailed job descriptions of the sort of roles available are included on the website.
The EuroSIMA website provides users with information about companies that are currently recruiting, as well as details of the full range of job and internship offers within the 3S sector (surfing / skating / snowboarding). Users can also post CVs online for recruiters to access. In addition to the attractive locations in which they are generally based (close to the mountains and / or the ocean), boardsports companies generally offer diverse job opportunities with good prospects.
One of EuroSIMA’s priorities is to promote teaching and training in the boardsports industry. A specific section of the website is therefore dedicated to training programmes that prepare candidates for jobs in the industry. It currently features almost 130 training programmes in France, and will very shortly be extending its coverage to Europe and beyond.
