April 23, 2008 - POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – European business executives will explore both regional and global aspects of outsourcing at an educational conference this fall in Spain presented by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP).
More than 150 C-level executives, professionals, advisors and outsourcing leaders are expected to attend The European Outsourcing Summit, 16-17 October at the IESE Business School, University of Navarra in Barcelona.
Themed “Outsourcing 2008: Universal Truths, Regional Realities,” the two-day event has been tailored to meet the business and educational needs of outsourcing professionals in Europe. It will include outsourcing customer panels, expert speakers, workshops and the latest research on the topic.
“The European Outsourcing Summit will explore the differences between creating and implementing outsourcing strategy in the European marketplace,” said IAOP Managing Director of Thought Leadership Jagdish Dalal. “The most successful firms are thinking globally but acting locally.”
The Offshoring Research Network (ORN), a consortium of academia and business groups led by Duke University that includes Summit host IESE Business School, will present results on a new study on offshoring service activities in the United States and European Union.
The Summit will provide a forum for professionals to discuss outsourcing from regional and global points of view. Among the topics will be the connection between cultural ties and global sourcing decisions; service providers’ views of Europe; and outsourcing destinations for European companies.
IAOP Chairman Michael Corbett will deliver opening remarks and the association’s Spain chapter, chaired by Quint Wellington Redwood, will host a gala dinner.
