April 25, 2006 - SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Casa di Pietra, one of the newest additions to the exclusive Desert Mountain community will be making its debut late this April with talked about top tier realty company Elite Estates. The 12,620 square foot home, which sits on a 1.30 acre view lot, features Mediterranean style architecture influenced by 18th century Italian farmhouses. Designer Patrick O’Brien’s creation is a truly unique design in which every detail has been placed with the greatest of intentions.
“As a designer it is critical to have a sense of balance, my goal for Casa di Pietra was to create a space that upon entering would convey a state of harmony,” said Patrick O’Brien, president of O’Brien Development, Inc. “For this exact reason Casa di Pietra features 17th and 18th century Italian building methods incorporated into today’s lifestyle.”
In keeping to his vision, an unparalleled feature of Casa di Pietra is the extensive custom stonework and antique wood beams extricated from a rural American farmhouse dated nearly 130 years ago. Every room in this remarkable home is viewed as a piece of art with the highest attention to detail and originality.
When entering the home one is met with the impressive five inch thick, distressed hickory wood door. When passing through the entrance, an intimate dining room complete with a custom stone fireplace, wine cellar and cigar humidor awaits for an evening of entertaining.
Throughout the home are pieces of authentic Europe such as the French Herbott 1854 sinks, which have been designed to continue its aging process making it a true living finish. Within the grandiose master suite the bathroom’s design draws upon ancient Roman Baths, complete with hand-placed mosaic tiles from O’Brien’s personal design.
Not to be overlooked is the entertainment lounge featuring a home theater, multi-screen media wall, we bar/kitchenette, billiard room and custom stone fireplace. A Creston home automation system integrates the home theater, house music, lighting, HVAC, security and pool/spa controls.
In creating the outdoor entertainment area, which looks over the rolling foothills of the surrounding mountains; O’Brien constructed a sunken dining section so that the diner’s point of vision would line up directly with the negative edge pool creating an impressive illusion.
Patrick O’Brien has been in the custom home building industry for over 25 years, with 10 of those years spent developing multi-million dollar homes in the affluent Silicon Valley. O’Brien has chosen Elite Estates, a division of Hot Realty, Inc. in Anthem to serve as the designated listing agency for Casa di Pietra.
