Ethan Weitz Charters is unique due to the fact that Ethan Weitz does not charter his boat to individuals. He will charter and captain his boat pro-bono to fish with charitable organizations, schools, hospitals, religious fellowships, and underprivileged children.
There is a deep personal conviction and ethic underlying the operation of the Ethan Weitz charter tour company and it is characterised by the values held by it founder and operator who captains the boat: Ethan Weitz himself.
A man who has been active on many fronts not least of which is his over twenty years of service as a US Coast Guard captain, Ethan Weitz captains a 31 foot Contender which he pilots and takes fishing off of south Florida and Bahamian waters for sailfish, tuna, and most other pelagic species.
“There are many ways to give back to society,” says Ethan Weitz, about his company’s unusual approach to operating. “Money is not always the best guideline for success, it is one of them I guess, but what also can be used as a gauge is the positive impact you manage to have in the world you care about.”
Ethan Weitz’s deep conviction of a personal duty to help those around him comes from a deep faith in himself and America. “Living in the western world, living in America, is a position of deep privilege,” he says, “it is something which I do not forget, I never allow myself to forget which is why Ethan Weitz Chartered Tours never works with individuals.”

“I guess,” says Ethan, “if I chartered to individuals I would be making a lot more money from each fishing trip, but it would be a lot less satisfying. This way I do my bit for a part of the world I live in.”
Ethan Weitz Chartered Tours are now in their third year of operation without any signs of slowing down.
“In some ways you could argue that what we do is more needed than ever before,” says Ethan Weitz.
