  • Sioux Falls, SD (1888PressRelease) April 20, 2017 - Singer, Songwriter, Pianist, Composer and Actor Ethan Bortnick will be taping a new nationally televised PBS special entitled "Generations of Music" at the Washington Pavilion (301 S. Main Ave) April 26th at 7pm presented by South Dakota Public Broadcasting (SDPB). The national special will feature famed Television Director, Leon Knoles (Stevie Wonder, Ed Sheeran, Bruce Springsteen) and serving as the special's Music Director will be David Rosenthal (Billy Joel's Musical Director). The concert special will air on PBS nationally in August 2017.

Ethan's last PBS special aired over 3,000 times and this time he has, even more, up his sleeve for the major performance. Some of which includes local choirs from SDSU and Brooking High School to round out Bortnick's 100+ choir. Ethan will also have a 60 piece symphony, a full band from Los Angeles and Peter Yarrow (Peter, Paul and Mary), Peter's daughter Bethany Yarrow and accompanist Rufus Cappadoci joining him on stage for the nationally televised special.

Ethan is the youngest person to ever record a PBS special, let alone three. "Last time I performed in the city I received such an amazing reaction" says Bortnick and that's why Ethan chose Sioux Falls for the location of the special.

Ethan has raised over $40 million for charities worldwide and is the Guinness World Record holder for the World's Youngest Solo Musician to Headline His Own Concert Tour. Fans may have seen Ethan performing with musical heavyweights such as Beyoncé, Elton John, Andrea Bocelli, Katy Perry, Reba McEntire, Barbara Streisand, Tony Bennett, and Celine Dion to name a few. He has also appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (four times), "Good Morning America" (twice), Oprah" (twice) and on every other major network. He is also the youngest voting member of the Grammys.

He's graced the cover of Esquire's 80th anniversary issue as one of the most influential men in the last 80 years and made history as the youngest headliner in Vegas. His audiences who span all ages and continents have raved that "his concerts/shows have been the best ones they've ever experienced, hands down."
