ET2C International: “Announcement By Chinese Government Creates Exciting Opportunity For UK Companies To Sell Products Into China”

Announcement Paves Way For ET2C International To Promote UK Imports Into China

(1888PressRelease) March 30, 2007 - Following on from yesterday’s announcement that import licence requirements are to be waived from April 1st on a select range of product categories, ET2C International Inc. has announced that it will use this as an opportunity to promote further UK trade inwards into the People’s Republic of China. The announcement was made by the Foreign Trade Department of China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).

MOFCOM’s announcement, originally made by Vice-Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng, will certainly have benefits for UK companies.

“Although this announcement relates to actual products, we will certainly continue to be receptive to the requests of UK companies looking to offer brands, retail concepts, or other services in China as well”, according to Jonathan Fayers, ET2C International’s Marketing Director. “In fact, this announcement is not only going to be important for our UK clients – it’s also going to create a lot more opportunities for our partners involved in our ‘Project Glocal’ initiative, which has so far generated a phenomenal amount of interest”.

Yesterday’s story, also reported in the China Daily, confirms that 338 product categories are to be opened up to foreign suppliers looking to sell their products in China, including steel products, plastic materials, electronics products and some types of machinery.

Traditionally, Chinese companies wishing to buy foreign products in these categories have had to apply for an import licence in order to be able to buy them directly. This, in fact, is the flip side of ET2C International’s core business, which is enabling foreign companies to ‘buy’ from Chinese factories without those factories having to pay any commissions to access the necessary Export Licences.

“Importing products into China and distributing them nationwide has always been on the agenda for us and we’ve been geared up to do it since we started,” added Fayers, “and announcements like this are great because they again highlight these opportunities in front of a global audience”.

The Chinese government announcement comes in a particularly exciting week for Chinese business, with Nanjing Automobile Corp., the Chinese partner of Italian carmaker Fiat, now starting to manufacture vehicles under the acquired British brand MG.

ET2C International invites companies – especially those from the UK - to send over details of products, brands, and other services they wish to introduce into China.
