Eruption of Volcanic Ash Causing a Lather of Controversy

Is Kate Hudson chasing fool's gold in breaching her oral contract with 220 Laboratories over the secret volcanic ash ingredient in her range of new hair products?

(1888PressRelease) September 04, 2008 - Is famous actress Goldie Hawn's daughter, 29 year old Kate Hudson living in the shades of the adventures of 'Indiana Jones', with her well-hidden secret ingredient for her new hair products? The eco-friendly 'Vanuatu Complex', uses the vitamin and mineral rich grey volcanic ash from the tropical islands of Vanuatu. Kate Hudson launched the product in June. It claims to transform hair care, as it captures 'fly a ways' (free flying hair).

The launch has erupted in lather of controversy in the courts. 220 Laboratories, a Californian based laboratory, is seeking compensatory and punitive damages, plus interest, over the violation of an oral contract.

There are allegedly 17 causes of action filed against actress Kate Hudson and her hair stylist-guru-to-the-stars, David Babaii. This includes fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets, violation of agreement, breach of confidence and a heap of other allegations. 220 Laboratories state the two have broken an oral contract, which says the Laboratories as the only providers of the raw materials used in the hair products.

However, Kate's publicist, Brad Cafarelli states that Kate has yet to officially receive the complaint. Kates says she doesn’t know anyone from 220 Laboratories.

It is very rare that we see oral contracts at the centre of a dispute in today's courts system. Particularly when that dispute will involve thousands of dollars and high profile public figures. Perhaps they are influenced by the tropical islands of Vanuatu, which have a history of oral methods, used to hand down customs and traditions, through songs and dance.

Vanuatu has many hidden secrets, as was seen from the recent opening of an exhibition of rare artifacts, in Sydney, Australia. Secret and sacred art that had never before been seen outside of Vanuatu. Art which set the art world on fire.

Following many months of dealings and discussions with the 220 Laboratories, Kate Hudson and David Babaii allegedly chose to take the list of the secret ingredients for their hair products, to an opposition laboratory, Universal Packaging Systems Inc. It is claimed they agreed to make the shampoos and conditioners for a lower cost.

220 Laboratories also claim that Kate and David have launched the same product discussed with them. Even down to a similar name and packaging.

Is this Kate's 'Fool's Gold'? Is she putting on into real life, what was the plot for a movie?

Allegedly the prosecuting attorney will be Matthew McConaughey, who is reported to have a rich romantic history with Hudson. So the water gets muddier and muddier.

The main question is, are Kate's hair products the actual thing, or just a low-cost imitation? Either way, it is well worth a visit to Vanuatu, to try the volcanic ash for yourself. Even if the ash doesn't prove to be the revolutionary new product that Kate claims it is, standing on the edge of a real live volcano, Mt. Yassur, is an earth shaking and mind blowing experience. The little known South Pacific tropical island nation, Vanuatu, is the home of travel adventure and the birth place of extreme sport. The 'Must See' travel destination of the South Pacific.

Husdon and Babaii are partners in the company 'David Babaii for Wild Aid', which donates 10% of profits to WildAid, a wildlife conservation group.
