July 15, 2008 - EO Entertainment acquires the rights to film about the long time lover of late soul singer Wilson Pickett as told by his common law partner
EO Entertainment announces acquisition of the rights to “Living With a Legend” by author, Evelyn Roberts. Ms. Roberts was the love interest of legendary soul singer, Wilson Pickett for over 21 1/2 years. EO Entertainment has acquired the book and film rights from Ms. Roberts.
The book chronicles her experiences living with Mr. Pickett over 21 1/2 years and will be adapted to a motion picture known as, “Loving a Legend in the Midnight Hours”, directed and produced by Stanley V. Henson, Jr. EO Entertainment has initiated casting by recently approaching actor Clifton Powell. CEO and President of EO Entertainment, Stanley V. Henson, Jr. wants to pursue Clifton Powell, Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx, or Darin DeWitt Henson for the lead role in the film and Lisa Raye McCoy, Jada Pinkett Smith, or Aunjanue Ellis for the role of Ms. Roberts. Film production will begin in 2009. Ms. Roberts will act as co- producer, consultant and co-writer for the film.
