December 11, 2008 - The Alternative Energy Awards 2008 are presented to individuals, renewable energy companies, developers, scientists and governments whose work furthers the development and use of sustainable energy sources in the region. The aim of the Awards is to promote the widespread use of clean, sustainable energy for the environmental, social and economic benefits that it can provide.
The ceremony, devised by Reflex Publishing’s Future Fuels & Energies magazine, took place in the Hiltonia Hotel in Abu Dhabi, and saw leading industry professionals celebrating success within the alternative energy industry. Now in its second year, the awards are dedicated to furthering the development and education of the use of sustainable energy sources.
The awards were presented to those who had made a substantial contribution to the cause, with categories including Project of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Developer of the Year, Environmentalist of the Year, New Energy Rising Star of the Year, Company of the Year, New Energy Investor of the Year, Academic of the Year, The Green Award, Siobhan Live Green Team Award.
