October 17, 2008 - Numerical Applications, Inc. (NAI), a company that provides software products, custom software development services and engineering support, has been recognized as a high-growth private company by the Entrex Private Company Index (PCI), a benchmarking index that measures the monthly performance of private companies in North America.
The Entrex PCI gave NAI its monthly Top Growth Award in August based on the company almost doubling its revenue over the same period last year.
The company, with offices in Cary, N.C., and Richland, Wash., had a stunning 94 percent growth in August 2008 over August 2007.
Jim Harrell, NAI co-owner/vice president, attributes the growth, in part, to the company’s ability to provide timely, rigorous and technically sound analytical software solutions to complex engineering problems.
“Our recent growth and success may be attributed to two primary factors.” First, he said, “Our foresight to add and qualify specific capabilities to our GOTHIC software that address an immediate near-term analytical need for nuclear power plants.” Secondly, he said, “The growth of nuclear power through increasing the licensed power levels at existing power plants and through potentially building new power plants.”
Stephen H. Watkins, CEO of Entrex, a Chicago-based company that sponsors the PCI Index, said it is companies like NAI that are driving any growth in the economy these days.
This is not the first time NAI was cited for growth. It received PCI’s quarterly growth award for the fourth quarter ’06.
The PCI issues this Top Growth award each month and presents the Top Five Growth Company award each quarter.
