March 05, 2008 - Brothers Bradley and Evan Bailyn, co-owners of the successful ghostwriting company the Penn Group and the popular website Cartoon Doll Emporium, have recently been looking in to expanding their business endeavors in to the realm of green technology.
“We’ve been fortunate enough to have most of our projects turn out a really high profit,” says Evan. “Now we want to take some of that profit and give back, and we think the best way to do that so as the most people can benefit is with green technology.”
The brothers are most interested in alternative energies, such as solar power and eco-friendly fuels, and in recycling.
“The amount of trash we generate as a nation is really unbelievable, and a huge percentage of it can be reused to make new products. Unfortunately, this process can be very costly, so we’re hoping to work with companies to figure out how we can subsidize some of that cost,” says Brad. “We’ve been in contact with a number of big businesses who have constructed their own recycling plants to make their production processes more environmentally friendly, and have discussed how they got started with their facilities. We’ve also talked to companies that specialize in alternative fuel research, such as cellulosic ethanol. There are a lot of really exciting things on the horizon.”
They have yet to decide as to whether they want to open their own facilities or collaborate with an already existing group, but the brothers hope to begin the project by the end of 2008.
Says Brad, “At the rate the environment is changing, there really isn’t a lot of time to waste. We’re eager to get started and help out.”
