Entertainment Industry Gives Back To The Kids

Inspiring all children to dream was the talk of the town Thursday, August 21 at The Cynopsis Foundation Charity Dinner and Auction. Over 200 entertainment industry representatives gathered at Chelsea Pier Sixty to raise funds for supplies and environmental education for children in underserved situations.

New York, NY (1888PressRelease) August 30, 2008 - Shelton, Connecticut – Two hundred entertainment industry representatives united as one on August 21 during The Cynopsis Foundation Charity Dinner and Auction fundraiser at New York City's Chelsea Pier Sixty. The theme of the evening was the importance of affording every child the opportunity to dream – never mind that they become what they imagine, but most importantly that they dream. As a result of the generosity of Presenting Sponsor qubo, Participating Sponsors A&E Television Network and Retirement Living TV, and guests from more than 40 industry organizations, the Foundation was able to raise more than $70,000, to be donated to this year's recipient charities - Kids In Need and EarthEcho International.

“We are honored to have played a part in helping the Cynopsis Foundation exceed its fundraising goals for this wonderful event,” said Rick Rodriguez, president and general manager, qubo. “Like Kids in Need and EarthEcho International, qubo is dedicated to supporting the unlimited possibilities of a child’s imagination and we were very happy to help.”

After an incredible performance by Emmy and Grammy nominee pianist/composer Richard Freitas, attendees had the opportunity to bid on exclusive experiences including a session with Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan and a private dinner with Philippe Cousteau. Also popular on the auction block was a luxury trip for four to Myrtle Beach, provided by MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com, and a week’s vacation to Bonaire in the Netherlands Antilles, a premier diving destination.

The Cynopsis Foundation Inc. was established in 2007 by Cynthia Turner, CEO of Cynopsis Media, and her family upon the birth of her first grandchild, to help fill the needs of those with the promise to improve our future and our world.

“In addition to being a fun night with great people, the Charity Dinner and Auction is just one way the industry can enhance the lives of generations to come,” explained Cynthia Turner. “The Cynopsis Foundation will continue to bring together those at the top of their game with the purpose of ensuring that, someday, all children will have at least the opportunity to fulfill their dreams.”
