EmploymentScape Opens Doors to the Hidden Job Market

Rising unemployment and the ever-increasing need for more and more job openings in the sagging economy have continuously inspired EmploymentScape, one of the world's leading job portals, to introduce new methods of finding jobs.

(1888PressRelease) August 30, 2008 - The career-service provider recently announced three more revolutionary tools that can help job seekers gain entrance into the hidden job market: Employment Authority, Hound.com, and EmploymentCrossing.

"Online job boards comprise less than 5% of the jobs out there. Today, job seekers have to take innovative new approaches to finding jobs. Apart from strong networking skills, they need to tap into the lucrative hidden job market, which accounts for 95% of the total jobs that are waiting to get filled," says A. Harrison Barnes, CEO of EmploymentScape.

"Targeted mailing is one of the most effective ways of finding hidden jobs," adds Barnes.

Employment Authority is renowned for helping students and professionals conduct targeted mailings to employers of their choosing. "At large companies, mailed applications are treated differently than emailed applications. Emails might be deleted or might not get delivered at all. Mailed applications, however, are properly filed. And even if they do not have job openings, employers are flattered by the personal touch of a mailed application. This means that job seekers who mail their applications have a much better chance of getting hired," explains Barnes.

"Another way of finding hidden jobs is hunting through employer career pages, which are the least advertised job resource, but it's just impossible for job seekers to browse through hundreds of thousands of employer sites on their own."

Hound.com is a search engine that collects only those jobs that are listed on employer career pages. The innovative search engine was over two years in the making and tracks down jobs directly from employer websites, classifying them according to type, location, industry, and a variety of other useful factors. Additionally, the website is unfettered by any commercial interest. "Hound.com jobs are displayed in the order of priority — not in the order of who is paying and not paying to post on the site," says Barnes.

"Last, but definitely not the least, is the online approach to finding jobs through niche job boards."

EmploymentCrossing has the world's best collection of job openings, divided into niche industries that cater to every professional in the US and abroad. The website currently has more than 1.5 million active jobs divided into 90-plus industry-specific job boards. "Job seekers tend to get entangled in the job-web on ordinary job boards. Niche job boards are the latest trend in the employment industry."

EmploymentScape believes these three websites can make a tremendous difference in the careers of serious job seekers. "With the unstable economy, it is imperative that job seekers take a proactive approach to finding jobs," says Barnes.
