March 04, 2008 - Montreal, QC – Empire ISIS conquers at the Gala SOBA (Sounds of Blackness Awards) with a win for Best World Music Artist of the Year. After independently releasing her album “Sound The Trumpets” that saw a collective of hiphop, reggae, dancehall, and pop. Empire ISIS has now been recognized as one of Canada's fastest growing urban stars. Along with her win, Empire ISIS performed at Gala SOBA presenting to the world, two of her many popular tracks “Get Up On It” & “Brand Nu Style”.
After yesterday’s award, Empire ISIS keeps her fans gasping for more. With no signs of slowing down she has been on tour in Miami, L.A, New York, Jamaica, and now in Israel; in addition she is recording new songs with super producer Prayon (Sean Paul, Beyonce, Mobb Deep, G-UNIT) for her re-release of “Sound The Trumpets” under Monumental|HLM|Universal. While gaining constant media exposure in magazines such as YRB, Exclaim, and many others, ISIS continues her journey as an international artist making heads turn while still staying 100% independent.
