  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) October 07, 2010 - (www.OliveAfrica.org) - There are 16 girls in the remote village of Arubela in Uganda, Africa, who are in desperate need of help. Girls like these living in remote villages are vulnerable to disease, abuse, abduction and rape. Olive Africa is raising money by selling our album on iTunes to place each of these particular girls in school by Christmas.

These are the girls: Cathleen, Doreen, Helen, Salome, Imota, Grace, Katie, Rose, Emmima, Christine, Nola, Betty, Carolyn, Alice, Sylvia, Naoimi. These are their dreams: Nurse, Teacher, Politician, Police Woman, Veterinarian. On our website, www.oliveafrica.org watch Cathleen's heart-wrenching video about her personal ordeal and her desire to attend school. With your help, Cathleen and the others can break the cycle of poverty, disease, and abuse.

For Cathleen and the other girls, Olive Africa is raising funds through the sale of a wonderful album of songs sung by Ugandan women & children. These songs of thanks and joy warmed our hearts and we are hopeful that they will touch your heart as well. Proceeds from the sale of these songs will provide the much needed funding for our 16 Girls as well as others we hope to support in coming months. Our goal is to reach 25,000 downloads by Christmas. This album is available for download on iTunes. The link to the album is on our website www.oliveafrica.org.

Olive Africa Ministries is a 501(c)(3) non-profit reaching out to vulnerable young girls who live in areas beyond the reach of mainstream humanitarian aid. Working with local Ugandan non-profit organizations, and by personally visiting these remote areas, Olive Africa provides funding for school fees to place girls in school, including all the other expenses (housing, healthcare, food) that frequently keep these girls from attending school or cause these young women to drop out of school.

    With your help, there's hope.
