October 13, 2009 - Efficiency Matrix unveils its new Downlight Mitt product which finally makes it alright to install recessed Downlight lighting in your home!
Downlights are the most inefficient lights you can put in your house. In summer they make your living area warmer, and in winter they make your living area cooler. Open air connectivity between your living area and the roof is a big "NO! NO!". These two areas should be separated as much as can be, because the roof is there to protect you from the elements, not to join you to the elements.
This is the under lying problem with downlights. Efficiency Matrix has unveiled two new product, for the first time targeting downlight inefficiencies head on.
The Halogen Mitt and the LED Mitt.

- An insulating material which significantly reduced heat loss.
- Blocks draught spreading from the most windy parts of the house(roof).

The Halogen Mitt includes a special 12V Lamp which directs heat downwards and provides the same light output as a standard 50W lamp but only utilizes 35W of energy.
The LED Mitt includes a 12V LED Lamp which produces great light output compared to a 20W halogen Lamp with only 5W of energy consumption.
