Recently, the FDIC announced that there is a new version of the FDIC sign which must replace all existing signs in insured financial institutions by November 13, 2007. Changes to the sign include the replacement of the FDIC seal with a semicircle of stars, the addition of the FDIC website address and the color and size of the sign, among other subtle modifications. The appearance requirements for the sign also vary depending upon where the sign is placed in the financial institution.
