January 03, 2009 - Educational Activities, Inc. A leading publisher of early childhood educational materials has partnered with Dr. Patricia Vardin, Chair of the Early Childhood Education Department at Manhattanville College, to write a blog, The Early Education Corner. The blog, which focuses on early childhood issues, is posted on the Educational Activities web site, www.EdAct.com.
Dr. Vardin will draw upon her years of experience as a teacher, college professor and child development expert to provide insight, research and useful advice which can be put into use immediately. Dr. Vardin’s knowledge early childhood – from current trends to the challenges of real early childhood classes – will guide this informative blog.
Each month, Dr. Vardin will focus on a specific area of early childhood education. The first post, The Importance of Music in Early Childhood, provides research-based information about music and child development, as well as 10 practical tips to help teachers easily integrate music into the school day.
We are pleased with the initial interest and participation in this blog, said Carol Stern, President of Educational Activities. With the increasing emphasis on the value of early childhood education, we feel strongly that creating a virtual community for educators to share and learn about best practices and research-based strategies will have a positive impact.
