The creator of the ultra-trendy Ed Hardy fashion brand, Christian Audigier is distilling the vintage tattoo look into eye-popping bottles featuring some of the famed artist’s most recognized designs. The Ed Hardy by Christian Audigier fragrances for men and women come from Zalman Lekach, former president and COO of Parlux Fragrances, under his new company New Wave Fragrances.
Together with New Wave and master perfumers Caroline Sabas and Olivier Gillotin of Givaudan, Audigier has crafted two scents inspired by the iconic Ed Hardy tattoos. According to Lekach, they have succeeded in “translating tattoo into a one of a kind scent that will definitely stand out and become a milestone on the fragrance fashion timeline.”
Ed Hardy Fragrance by Christian Audigier for Women
The women's fragrance is best described as "Tattooed Fruity Floral." The brilliant imagery of Ed Hardy's tattoo art inspired this super vibrant and sexy fragrance. An explosion of fruit including Tropical Mango, Wild Strawberries, Apple Soufflé and Ruby Red Grapefruit open the scent, then mixes with the rock 'n' roll edge of Freesia Petals, Watery Muguet and Linden Blossom. This contrast of florals and fruit merges with Warm Amber, Sensual Musk, Tonka Beans and Vanilla to create a very addictive fragrance.
Ed Hardy Fragrance by Christian Audigier for Men
Uniquely fresh with a sexy edge, the men’s fragrance is best described as “Tattooed Woody Floral.” The bright and tantalizing citrus of Bergamot and Mandarin are touched by the aromatic expression of Thuja and the sharp bite of Clary sage for added zest. This animated opening is the prefect preview to a colorful Mint Julep cocktail that matches up with Ozone for a psychedelic explosion of color and effervescence. Sequoia brings a masculine woodiness to the fragrance along with sensual Musks and a touch of Black Amber. The final effect is a one of a kind scent that will definitely stand out.
The artist-designed super-star bottles are sold in the 1.7 fl. oz EDP Spray for $55 and the 3.4 fl. oz EDP Spray for $75. They are available at Macy's and Dillard's.
