August 28, 2007 - With the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the last book that concludes the saga of Harry Potter, an Xlibris release is sure to continue the spell cast by the internationally-popular J.K. Rowling creation in the form of A World Apart by Lisa Wright.
A World Apart follows the adventures of 12-year old Lindsay Wexler who encounters several strange occurrences in her Great-Uncle Eldridge Tetla’s bookstore that eventually bring her to a parallel world named Gaiasisperan. With the help of several friends – both from her world and from Gaiasisperan – as well as some magical items they find along the way, Lindsay brings back order to the two worlds and saves them all from impending doom.
A World Apart bridges the gap between the real and magical worlds, as did the Harry Potter series. This connection to reality gives readers the notion that “it could happen.” Lisa Wright also manages to add a dash of humor to the story to make reading a more enjoyable occasion.
Middle-grade readers from age ten and up will truly appreciate A World Apart, not only for its Potter-esque subject but also because of the beautiful and engrossing tale that Lisa Wright has woven.
