December 21, 2008 - E-World Entertainment, an independent label started by legendary rap producer Erotic D, is gearing up to release projects by artists Six2, Verse and Erotic D himself. Erotic D is best known for his production work with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, MC Breed, Adina Howard, George Clinton, D.O.C. and several others. Over the course of his more than 20-year history, Erotic D has been a part of projects that have sold more than 20 million units. Beginning in 1995, Erotic D started E-World Entertainment and is currently home to 6 artists covering everything from Rap, R&B and Rock music. Erotic, who is currently serving a prison term at a Texas Federal Penitentiary, will be releasing his Black Bruce Willis album through E-World Entertainment in 2009.
Running the label while incarcerated, Erotic D promises to release a multitude of projects. One of the projects slated to come out includes Dallas/Ft. Worth rapper, Six2, who has featured on Dr. Dre’s Grammy award winning 2001 album -- on songs “B-tch Niggaz” and “Xxplosive” -- while also receiving co-writing credits throughout the album. Six2 was later featured on D.O.C.’s Deuce, on which he handled a large share of the emceeing duties throughout the record. Showcasing his talents alongside west coast heavyweights Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, MC Ren, as well as with his fellow Texas homies Uptight and El Dorado, Six2 stole the show several times on cuts like “What Would You Do”, “Mentally Disturbed”, “Judgement Day”, and “Ghetto Blues”.
Six2 began his career as a part of the Texas group Genacide, with El Dog, releasing two underground albums, Waste Uva Cular and Mixed Up Murder. Soon after, fellow Texas native, and N.W.A. affiliate, D.O.C., began courting Six2 to join him with Dr. Dre over at Death Row Records, but Six2 felt that Suge Knight was trying to split him and El Dog apart. Once Dr. Dre left the label and reconciled his differences with D.O.C., he again looked to the smooth, laid-back flowing rapper to be a part of Aftermath Entertainment. While attempting to be signed to Dr. Dre’s Aftermath imprint, Deuce was initially meant to be a Six2 solo album for Dr. Dre’s label, however, due to industry politics, it was released as a D.O.C. solo on Silverback Records, with Six2 either writing or co-writing most of that project. Once the deal with Aftermath fell through, Six2 was courted by another super-producer, Timbaland, for his Beat Club label. Six2 began working with Timbaland for the producer’s Shock Value album, where Six2 wrote the songs “Release”, with Justin Timberlake, “Bounce”, which featured Dr. Dre and Missy Elliott, and “Board Meeting”, featuring long-time Timbaland collaborator, Magoo. Six2, again, was on the wrong side of bad label politics, and never released a project on Beat Club. Six2 has since worked with P. Diddy (Bad Boy), the PussyCat Dolls, Big Mike (Geto Boys), the late Pimp C (UGK), and a host of others.
Six2’s eagerly anticipated Affiliated album will be his first release on E-World Entertainment. Affiliated is completely produced by Erotic D and features all-new material. With help on a few cuts by the E-World family, Affiliated will firmly cement Six2’s status as a top-notch MC.
R&B artist, Verse, is a singer and songwriter who definitely knows how to get the ladies in the mood with the voice of a calming rain that turns into an emotional vocal storm. Singing, writing and performing his own music is like second nature for this artist. Verse is the grandson of The Late Great “The Whailer” Johnnie Taylor and, for the past 24 years, has grown up around musicians such as Yarbrough & Peoples, The Mac Band and Lakeside, just to name a few. Listening and learning from these talented people has brought out the desire to share his music, with the same gift of music within, but with his own unique talent, by way of his R&B Love release on E-World Entertainment.
