Dunes' Back Bay Bistro Introduces New Wine Program

The Newport Beach restaurant has reformatted its wine list and, together with the OC Wine School, will present tastings, special wine dinners and other events to promote fine wines.

    In addition to highlighting moderately priced, classic wines from France, Italy, Germany and Spain, its "Best of the New World" includes wines from California, Oregon, Washington, New Zealand, Argentina, Chile, South Africa and Australia.     The Smiths launched the OC Wine School to demystify the secrets and pretentiousness often associated with the world of wine. They have more than 20 years of experience, gained by visiting top vineyards and winemakers in the world's most important wine regions, with their specialist wine tour service, Avalon Wine Tours. Its professional staff is well versed in all aspects of wine including tasting, presentation, food-pairing and storage. The couple work alongside partner Anthony Gochal, a certified sommelier.

    The Back Bay Bistro is a contemporary 199-seat dining establishment.
