June 17, 2008 - Sugar Land - Dr. Marc Sanders has been named medical director of the new Freedom LASIK vision center at Sugar Land Town Center.
An experienced LASIK eye surgeon and board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Sanders was named one of America’s Top Cataract and Refractive Surgeons by the Consumer Research Council of America. He was also voted a top doctor in H-Texas Magazine survey four years in a row.
Dr. Sanders has outstanding academic credentials. He graduated magna cum laude from Duke University in North Carolina, and was a Fulbright School, attending the University of Munich in Germany, before pursuing a career in medicine. Dr. Sanders received his medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine in Texas, and served a residency in ophthalmology at the Ochsner Foundation in New Orleans. He turned to the Baylor College of Medicine to pursue advanced training in cataract and refractive surgery.
Today, Dr. Sanders is a recognized leader in the field of LASIK Surgery. He was among the first to begin performing laser vision correction more than a decade ago and has continued to pioneer the most advanced techniques as they are developed.
Dr. Sanders enjoys sharing his knowledge and is a part-time professor at the Baylor College of Medicine, where he teaches surgeons in training. He is one of a select group of eye surgeons who is certified in many different types of LASIK Surgery technology, including the Allegretto WaveLight, IntraLase, VISX, Alcon LADARWave, Bausch & Lomb Technolas 217 and Nidek EC-5000.
A member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, Dr. Sanders is also a member of the Texas Medical Association, Houston Ophthalmology Society and Harris County Medical Society.
