September 19, 2009 - In a recent interview with TheCelebrityCafe.com, Skribble spoke about how it felt to be top ten in the America’s Best DJ contest.
“It is great to be a part of something like that, to be a nominee. To be in the top ten for anything, no matter where you're placed,” Skribble said.
The renowned DJ has earned his place at the top, putting in his time as a house DJ on MTV’s “Total Request Live” and “The Grind” and doing over 200 shows a year all over the world. He has also had to sacrifice family time as a result of his travel.
“But now that I have a family it’s a little different you know, being away from home,” Scribble said. “But I chose to do this with my life like you miss certain things like birthdays and you miss holidays. But at the end of the day those kids are coming to see you play and I’ve been chosen.”
Luckily, Scribble has spread his bets in case he ever tires of life on the road. The rapper-turned-DJ has a part in the upcoming documentary on the life of rap legend Big Pun, entitled “My Legacy”. In a more entrepreneurial move, he has established his own signature line of headphones for DJs.
With all of his years in the industry and ideas for branching out, it seems like Scribble has some valuable advice to give to aspiring DJs. “Don’t get into this for the money,” he said. “You should love doing this and love performing for people. And making people shake their ass, that's the most important thing.”
