April 22, 2008 - Discovery Initiatives is pleased to announce the launch of a new “Wildlife Insight” tour of Costa Rica: http://www.discoveryinitiatives.co.uk/discover/trip/Costa_Rica/Wildlife_Insight_Tour/. Discovery Initiatives describes the trip as a “privileged and hands on insight into Costa Rica’s extraordinary wildlife and biodiversity on a small group tour.”
The tour begins with a visit the Cabecar Indians in Squirres, the largest indigenous group in Costa Rica and one that retains many of its traditional customs and beliefs.
Next on the trip is a visit to the Earth Institute in Guapiles to meet agronomists who not only understand agriculture, but also demonstrate a social sensitivity conscience and recognise the importance of working with communities and learn about all the various projects they have funded in this area.
Onwards to Bajo del Toro, to take part in regeneration of the forest. An in-depth private talk from Sr Gonzales, the owner of the lodge who will explain more about the main projects, protection and conservation of the environment.
Finally travellers will be transferred into the depths of the Piedra Blancas National Park to the Esquinas Rainforest Lodge to be surrounded by acres of untouched wilderness.
Justin Wateridge, MD of Discovery Initiatives, commented: “This unique tour combines a hands-on opportunity to combine an exploration of interesting and diverse wildlife with a behind the scenes look at various conservation projects in stunning locations.”
