January 11, 2008 - Based in Quincy, Massachusetts, Hancock TV & Appliance (www.hancocktvandappliance.com) will contribute a brand new refrigerator, oven range and dishwasher to the new home, a total retail value of just under $4,000. In addition, West Bridgewater’s GW Lumber (www.fortewoodflooring) will be contributing more than 1,800 square feet of White Oak and tile for all the home’s bathrooms.

Homes for Our Troops began construction on Veteran’s Day weekend last November and completion is anticipated early in 2008. Besides Hancock TV & Appliance and GW Lumber’s donations, other contributions from DirectBuy of Boston South and its vendors include the kitchen cabinetry and bathroom vanity, chosen during Sgt. Fountaine and his fiancée’s tour of DirectBuy of Boston South’s Rockland, Massachusetts showroom.
“I used to work construction with my father so I have a pretty good idea of how much these kind of things cost,” said Fountaine, a double amputee. “We can’t thank DirectBuy of Boston South and its vendors, not to mention Homes for Our Troops and all the other vets and volunteers who have helped and continue to help build our home, for their kindness and support.”
