Dinersnation.com: User-freindly Dining Network Gives Control Back To Restaurant Operators Nationwide

Restaurant operators look for alternate listing services with more security and features: Social networking websites provide platform for national dining network.

(1888PressRelease) April 06, 2007 - Restaurant operators nationwide are looking for alternative listing services that can provide them with better features and security to reach new customers. Since the introduction of content management applications in the late 1990’s, the foodservice industry has turned to the internet for more efficient communication with their stakeholders. Whether it be e-mail, websites, online ordering or scheduling, the internet has done its share to improve the industry in many ways. According to Dinersnation.com President Greg Fisher, restaurants in the USA need to keep up with technology to attract a younger generation of restaurant goers. According to the National Restaurant Association, 46 percent of adults between the ages of 18 and 34 used the internet to find about restaurants they have not visited before. By comparison, 33 percent of adults aged 45 to 64 used the internet for the same reason. As these numbers continue to grow, restaurant operators are realizing that the internet is an important tool that can ultimately improve sales.

It was nearly two years ago when President Greg Fisher came up with the idea for Dinersnation.com. At the time he was working for a fast-casual restaurant in Florida that had no internet presence at the time. The owners were curious about what the internet offered and turned to Greg to help find a cost effective solution. Greg searched for a service that could help the restaurant, but there was nothing that gave them the control they wanted. That’s when he realized there was a need for a user-friendly service that let restaurant operators create, add, edit and delete information anytime and anywhere without consent of a third party website administrator. With the help of business partner Ben Hein, along with students and faculty at the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management, Dinersnation.com was successfully launched on March 2nd, 2007.

After the first month of operations, Dinersnation.com has received positive responses from restaurant operators nationwide. Jonna Jones, the owner of Dreamers restaurant in Marianna, Arkansas, found out about Dinersnation.com through a popular online restaurant forum. Jonna explains, “I have actually looked at several web providers to provide a website and Dinersnation.com was a godsend. It is very user friendly and I am even using it to put out a coupon for a buy one get one free appetizer to attract new customers.” Jonna is one of many restaurant operators that use Dinersnation.com on a weekly basis to update her menus, promotions, pictures, awards and dining information. While it is true that almost every restaurant may have its own website, who wants to browse through countless locations, web pages and dining guides to find a simple meal? Dinersnation.com provides a single website to browse through the restaurant choices in a certain area, thus creating a very user friendly, easy to use website for consumers.
