Digital Switching Systems Launches New Keypad With Seakeeper

Digital Switching Systems, LLC has launched a new keypad solution in conjunction with Seakeeper, Inc. The keypad is designed to function as a fully-compatible user input device on a CAN-based system.


(1888PressRelease) May 23, 2008 - RALEIGH, N.C. – Digital Switching Systems, LLC, (DSS) a leading provider of electronic and mechanical switching systems to the marine and transportation markets, announced that it launched a new keypad solution based on the Controller Area Network (CAN) protocol. Developed in conjunction with Seakeeper, Inc., a developer of motion control devices for boats less than 50 meters, this keypad is designed to function as a fully-compatible user input device on a CAN-based system.

“The Seakeeper keypad is the first in a series of product offerings by DSS to satisfy the growing market demand for plug-and-play components,” said Ken Wood, DSS vice president and general manager. “In addition to straight CAN, we plan to roll out market specific protocol variations including J1939 and NMEA 2000.”
