Englewood Cliffs, NJ- Up-and-coming singer, songwriter and producer, Devon Howard is one of those nice guys you would want to bring home to meet your parents: well mannered, family minded, and goal oriented. But don’t be fooled by his easy-going demeanor—his hypnotic voice, sexy lyrics and impeccable vocals let’s you know he’s got the “it” factor. In fact, he has already gained the attention of some key people in the music industry, including the notorious Chris Robinson, one of the most sought after music video directors in the business. Among the videos he has helmed are "So Gone" and "Knock Knock" by Monica, "Fallin'" and "You Don't Know My Name" by Alicia Keys, "The Best of Me" by Mya featuring Jadakiss, "I Can" by Nas, and "Bonnie & Clyde '03" by Jay-Z featuring Beyoncé.
Robinson is also known for the creation of the "Boost Mobile" ad campaigns featuring rap superstars such as Ludacris, The Game, Eve, and others. Robinson teamed up with long-time friend and owner/CEO of the Global Entertainment independent record label, Antonio Murchison, to create Devon Howard’s first music video for his acclaimed single, “ Other Side of the Bed,” the filming of which was completed June 24th. Devon Howard’s debut single is receiving extraordinary feedback on urban radio NATIONWIDE, in fact program director of WWMG-FM, Mongomery, AL told Richardson, “Every time we play the track the phones light up!” The first radio station to feature the sultry sounds of Devon Howard was the hometown favorite, WERQ, where it was first played “In the Love Zone.” Since then, stations all over the country have discovered Devon’s irrefutable talent.
With his compassionate and soulful single, and a heart-wrenching video shot by a world-renowned director, Devon Howard is a name the world will soon know.
The Baltimore, Maryland native has had a lifetime of practice, writing songs since childhood. Songwriting came naturally to Howard, inspired by his late father, who was also a songwriter. He grew up listening to his father’s collection: The Manhattans, The Stylistics, and The Commodores. After years of hard work, the musical sensation got his start in the industry performing with various groups and eventually wrote and performed with a local group for EMI. He would later go on to record and release music in Europe and Japan.
Howard is currently signed to major distributed label, Global Entertainment. As a singer, songwriter and producer he is a triple threat which places him way ahead of the game. Devon is walking in the footsteps of some of the most recognized artists out today: Baby Face, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, El DeBarge, and Usher are among the many who have had a significant impact on his distinctive style. His songs are fresh, edgy, laidback and smooth. He brings a flavor reminiscent of old school but, with a modern twist.
But Devon Howard is not just a nice guy with a sexy voice. He has been featured in publications such as the New York Beacon News, and in 2003 he was honored by the Heinekin / ASCAP Initiative for Songwriting. He has also performed the National Anthem at games for the Baltimore Orioles and the NBA’s Washington Wizards. Amidst his hectic schedule and multitude of accomplishments Howard always finds time to contribute to the less fortunate. He has been an advocate for foster children for the past five years, and has given donations to various charitable organizations including The Red Cross and America’s Harvest.
