Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Goleta, CA (1888PressRelease) May 25, 2011 - Coastal Custom Wine Cellars recently built a custom wine cellar in Lompoc, CA for Sea Smoke Cellars, makers of some of the most sought after Pinot Noir wines. Coastal was able to build a wine cellar capable of holding a total of 1,482 wine bottles in Sea Smoke Cellars' Lompoc winery, which is about 130 miles northwest of Los Angeles.

Considering the client's reputation in the wine community, Coastal Custom Wine Cellars was very excited to work with Sea Smoke Cellars. In addition to their own products, the client also had several large format wine bottles and wooden crates that they wanted to include in their display. They were very pleased with Coastal's brilliant use of various display and storage configurations that can hold almost any wine bottle of various shapes and sizes. To maximize storage space, Coastal built diamond wine storage bins which can accommodate any large format and oddly shaped bottles. Wooden crates and boxes can be shelved in rectangular shaped storage bins as well.

For both storage and presentation purposes, horizontal lattice and waterfall displays were used. Each cubicle can hold multiple wine bottles in varying orientation and pitch angle, which helps in displaying Sea Smoke Cellars' world class labels. Cabinets and table tops were incorporated into the design for safekeeping wine glasses and other wine cellar accessories. The use of Knotty Alder wine racks, with its rugged and knotty patterns, matched the rustic appearance of the flooring and window trims. Knotty Alder has numerous knots and distressed areas in its otherwise nice grain patterns that give the wood a remarkably natural look. Coastal's design will surely accommodate any future additions to the collection and makes wine cellar management easier for the client.

The wine storage design created by Coastal is ideal for clients with large wine collections. Wine cellar management considerations were incorporated before the customized wine cellar started to take shape.
