August 20, 2007 - Webster’s Definition of: Integrity (in teg’ri te`) 1. Adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.
To hear the Shirks and Parshall define their team’s name with the word “integrity” they believe it should be everyone’s mantra. However, as Patti Shirk pointed out, “it’s common to hear about underhanded practices.” She knows that dealing with the business world life can be quite challenging. While they’ve had their share of disappointments in the past the Team With Integrity leaders will not give up or succumb to the percentage of people and businesses who seem to take the road well traveled. As Allen Shirk stated, “it really pays off to be forthright and honest. We actually see positive results yet when we have seen others in the business doing less than honest practices it blows our minds.” If “comeuppance” is on their minds and lips, think again. “It doesn’t help us to wish ill on others. If dishonest people continue eventually their team or business associates find out. Their business eventually suffers.”
“We just went through an ordeal worth mentioning in this article”, Allen said. “Recently we spoke with a gentleman who was shopping for a business and the right team. He spoke with my wife, Patti, and he wanted a guarantee of success. Patti told him we couldn’t make any guarantees. That’s unethical . Now this same man found another person in the same business who guarantees him success and would cut him a deal which was totally opposite of Darren Gaudry’s policy (owner of Passport To Wealth). This person was going to let him in the company for free! If this person was allowed to give away free memberships it would damage everyone’s chance to make any money. This practice is totally against Darren’s philosophy. People pulling that kind of underhanded strategy will be kicked out of the company eventually,” said Allen. To add a final comment, Allen said, “this same gentleman actually signed on with us as he really liked the ethical behavior he found with our team. He could have saved an initial $997 but opted instead to run his business with integrity as well.
The TWI group drives their business with a fierce moral boundary. As Allen Shirk reminded Pat during a recent conversation, “we could have undermined affiliate links to our advantage, we could have taken prospects away from other team members and made promises that we didn’t intend to keep. But the fact of the matter is that we do not undermine our business associates, make outrageous promises and we constantly help our team achieve their income goals.”
“Why is Team With Integrity’s subject for today’s article regarding the word ‘integrity’?” “I believe with everything happening to us lately that we were directed to talk about this subject. Allen’s final thought: “We are glad that we have held the line on honesty and integrity.”
