March 28, 2008 - With the national spotlight shining squarely on the issue of obesity in America, one Indianapolis-based weight loss surgery practice has taken a broader, deeper step toward educating the public about obesity issues, solutions and treatments by drastically expanding its website.
Carmel Surgical Specialists will launch a new website in March of 2008, promising greater detail and resources for people suffering from obesity, as well as expanded information about its general surgical and breast services practice.
“The new website is simply an extension of our long-standing philosophy of sharing information with the public in general, and our patients in particular,” said Janie Usab, Practice Administrator at Carmel Surgical Specialists in Indianapolis, Indiana. “We hadn’t updated the website in many years, and realized that it was time to bring the site up to date with the diverse expertise we offer within our surgical practice—for weight loss patients as well as those needing general surgical.”
According to Usab, weight loss issues and weight loss surgery in particular can often be clouded by a lack of comprehensive education about the practice of Bariatric medicine.
“Bariatrics is an entire medical specialty that deals with the causes, prevention and treatment of obesity, “ said Usab. “Diet, exercise, behavior therapy and anti-obesity drugs are all components of bariatric weight loss treatment –components that are fully explored before actual weight loss surgery is introduced as an option.”
Making this information accessible and easy to digest is one of the primary goals of the website re-imagining, Usab says. “We do some pretty amazing things here—not just with weight loss, but with minimally invasive general surgery, and advanced approaches to breast services. It was time for us to put a better foot forward with our on-line education,” stated Usab.
The website launch is scheduled on or after March 15th of this year at http://carmelsurgical.com/.
