Datacraft Wins Three Years Contracts To Supply, Install And Provide Uptime Maintenance Services For Xl

Datacraft, the region's leading independent IT services and solutions company, has won a contract with Indonesia’s third largest mobile operator PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk (XL) to provide hardware and software as well as its installation, Uptime maintenance and support services.

(1888PressRelease) September 23, 2008 - As part of the three-year Uptime maintenance contract, Datacraft is providing XL with comprehensive Uptime maintenance support for the company’s critical IT infrastructure that includes equipment from various vendors such as Cisco, Checkpoint, Nokia and Packeteer. Besides enabling a high availability network, Uptime services ensures fast response and quick resolution of IT infrastructure problems, in addition to its offering of a 24x7 Customer Hotline Service; telephone advisory support, remote diagnostics, on-site engineer support and escalation to Datacraft’s Global Service Centre.

In addition, Datacraft was also awarded a separate three-year agreement to supply and install new hardware and software to bolster XL’s existing IT infrastructure, as the company continues to grow its mobile user base in the world’s fourth most populated country. XL (www.xl.co.id) is already the third largest mobile telecommunications operator in Indonesia with more than 22 million users.

“By appointing Datacraft as our partner, XL will be able to enjoy bulk volume discounts through Datacraft for the purchase of the vendors’ products. More importantly, we now have a single point of accountability for the operational availability of our mission-critical IT infrastructure, as well as consistent delivery from the supply of hardware and software, through to implementation and Uptime maintenance support,” said Dian Siswarini, Director of Network for PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk.

To ensure optimal support, Datacraft has also placed a team of networking engineers on-site to provide a highly skilled in-house support as part of Datacraft’s team empowering service. This experienced team now provides a single point of contact for handling all IT issues and takes care of trouble-shooting and problem resolution according to the terms of a strict Service Level Agreement (SLA). This arrangement frees XL’s management to focus on the company’s core business.

“The new agreement means that our network is managed by a team of experts who already have a strong familiarity with XL’s IT infrastructure. Datacraft’s engineers have been closely involved in the construction of our network over the years and with such in-depth knowledge and proven expertise, they are well positioned to take on this important support role,” added Siswarini.

The Uptime services contract covers a broad variety of equipment from various vendors for their IT Infrastructure, ISP Core, and Network Core (including IP Transfer Point) across the network. Datacraft solutions that form part of the main contract include Network Infrastructure, Converged Communications, Security and iBOSS (Infrastructure Operations).

“We are delighted to secure the three-year contracts with XL,” said Bambang Patrap Yakin, General Manager for Datacraft Indonesia. “This agreement is testimony to the positive experience of our strong partnership that dates back to 1998 and the client’s confidence in Datacraft’s expertise and professionalism. We are totally committed to strengthening this partnership and will continue to work closely with XL’s team to help them achieve their business goal.”

The contract commenced in February 2008.
