July 08, 2008 - This state-of-the-art facility now connects the company’s offices in Bangalore, Mumbai, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo, and significantly cuts down corporate travel expenses by enabling executives to collaborate effectively through a rich video-based environment.
Under the US$1 million contract, Datacraft Singapore was tasked with planning, designing and implementing TelePresence solutions for the bank’s five strategic operations in Asia Pacific; and to provide central project management to ensure that the project was completed on budget and within the demanding three-month schedule.
The Cisco TelePresence system installed in each of the five offices includes 65” plasma screens, microphones, cameras, high definition codecs and other elements required to create a ‘same room’ experience. The life-size images and video clarity of the Cisco TelePresence solution allows the participants to see every expression, while the CD-quality audio ensures that every word can be heard, which creates a heightened sense of reality.
“TelePresence creates an almost ‘in-person’ meeting experience and ensures that users enjoy the benefits of real-life face-to-face interaction – so executives no longer need to feel obliged to catch a plane in order to attend an important meeting,” said Png Kim Meng, Country Manager for Datacraft Singapore. “In addition, fewer flights mean a smaller carbon footprint, so that companies not only contribute to the environmental cause but can minimise expenditure and time on corporate travel”

Besides enabling top level executive meetings, the TelePresence system is well suited for day-to-day tasks such as long distance job interviews; customer service troubleshooting in remote locations; sales demonstrations; design collaboration; and staff meetings between personnel in separate offices across different countries or continents.
To date, Datacraft has implemented over 60 TelePresence systems for a wide range of clients from financial institutions, educational sectors to service providers.
