Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) October 28, 2008 - Hardin Construction Company, LLC (www.hardinconstruction.com) has announced that Daniel LaBadie has been named manager of preconstruction services for the company’s Raleigh operations. A longtime North Carolina resident, LaBadie has extensive experience in cost estimating various types of projects, including retail, hospitality, residential, office, education, healthcare and public assembly, successfully assisting owners to set realistic and accurate project budgets at the early stages of planning and design. His responsibilities include helping both the design team and owners maintain these budgets through the buy-out stage, as well as overseeing a staff of estimators who provide preconstruction services on multiple projects.

LaBadie has been with Hardin for nine years and has 25 years of overall experience in the construction industry. During his time with Hardin he has overseen various projects such as the Gateway Village in Charlotte, the CarMax corporate headquarters in Richmond, Va., the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ITS Building in Chapel Hill, and the Aycock Auditorium at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Greensboro. LaBadie’s activities continued with Hardin’s construction of the Hamilton Medical Center Emergency Department renovation and addition in Dalton, Ga., the St. Johns Town Center Phase II Retail Center in Jacksonville, Fla., and most recently the development of the RBC Plaza in Raleigh.

LaBadie received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. He has spent much of his life in the field of construction, starting his professional career as a professional engineer and project manager before moving into estimating. LaBadie was among the first of Hardin’s employees to become a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional and has led the company’s efforts toward continued education in this arena.

“It is an honor to join the leadership of Hardin Construction Company’s Raleigh presence,” said LaBadie. “There are many opportunities for growth here in our community and I am excited to bring my experience to the management of future projects.”
