What:
Over 800 turkeys will be delivered to the Denver Rescue Mission’s Lawrence Street Shelter. The turkeys will be served this holiday season at the Lawrence Street Shelter and The Crossing and are presented as the initial offering to the Denver Rescue Mission’s Great Thanksgiving Day Banquet. The turkeys will be given to families in holiday food boxes and distributed to poor and needy families in the Denver metro area through other non-profit agencies.
Dalbey’s donation is expected to feed over 800 families on Thanksgiving Day. Once the program is completed, the Denver Rescue Mission hopes to raise a total of 6,000 turkeys.
Where:
Denver Rescue Mission’s Lawrence Street Shelter, located at 1130 Park Ave West (close to 23rd Street and Lawrence).
Who:
Russ Dalbey, founder and CEO of The Dalbey Education Institute, will present over 800 turkeys to Denver Rescue Mission President Brad Meuli.
Each year, the Denver Rescue Mission provides Thanksgiving dinner to thousands of families and individuals through a variety of services.
This year, the Mission’s goal is to raise 6,000 turkeys to be used during the holiday season. Dalbey’s donation meets more than 10 percent of that goal.
Visuals/Other:
· Over 800 turkeys will be delivered to the Denver Rescue Mission for their holiday food program. The turkeys will be unloaded from a Red Bird Farm’s truck and into the Denver Rescue Mission’s freezers.
· Members of the media can view the freezers and see the hundreds of donated frozen turkeys that will be provided to Denver’s needy.
· Both Russ Dalbey and Brad Meuli will be available for interviews.
The Denver Rescue Mission hopes to raise a minimum of 6,000 turkeys for the holiday season. Those wishing to donate turkeys may do so anytime at the Lawrence Street Shelter (23rd and Lawrence Street), The Crossing (6090 Smith Rd. in Denver) or the Ministry Outreach Center (3501 E 46th Ave, close to I-70 and Colorado Blvd).
