October 28, 2009 - Cyprus promise for Limassol Marathon GSO (http://www.limassolmarathon.com ) to be a truly international quality event.
Limassol Marathon, on 28 Feb 2010, the only IAAF and AIMS accredited Marathon race on the island and Cyprus Sports Association (KOEAS) ‘s official Marathon race is expected to be a truly international event that is going to attract thousands from Cyprus and abroad.
The promise was given by the Organizers’ Managing Director, enthusiastic Mr Spyros Spyrou at the official Press Conference in Limassol’s City Hall on Wednesday 21 October 2009. Spyrou was supported at the press conference by GSO Chairman, the Mayor of Limassol, the Chairman of Cyprus’s Tourist Organization, the city’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman, and a representative of the Minister of Health who put the race under his auspices.
The authorities of Cyprus have all joined forces and are providing their full support to the organizers, Olympus Event Management and the company’s soul Spyros Spyrou who is highly regarded for his experience and proved record in creating spectacular events.
The event will consist of four races: The Marathon race, Half Marathon Race, 10 K and 2 K kids fun race.
The organizers promise is for a professionally organized event abiding by the highest international standards. As they say, the event will be a memorable one, not only for its high sports specifications but also because of the whole atmosphere that will be created by the various events that are planned to run parallel to the race and are expected to bring the Limassolians to the streets, either for taking part in the 10K race or for cheering up the athletes who will compete in the Marathon and ½ Marathon Races.
