Sullivan, an appellate attorney and business litigator with Bucks County law firm Curtin & Heefner LLP, has been elected vice-chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Civil Litigation Section. The Civil Litigation Section promotes the development of the law and procedures pertaining to civil legal matters. The section also works to encourage the study of civil litigation, obtain uniformity in legislation and administration relating to civil litigation, and to simplify and improve the application of justice to this area of the law.

In addition to serving as vice-chair of the PBA Civil Litigation Section, Sullivan was appointed co-chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association Appellate Courts Committee earlier this year. The Appellate Courts Committee provides educational programming for bar members and contributes to shaping appellate law practice in Pennsylvania.

Sullivan maintains a significant appellate and commercial litigation practice, representing both large and small businesses in corporate governance litigation, partnership disputes, insurance coverage, product liability, director and officer liability, construction litigation, toxic tort defense, and litigation involving homeowners' associations. His recent appellate successes include prevailing on two matters of first impression in Pennsylvania, both argued before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Curtin & Heefner LLP, Sullivan was associated with two large national law firms, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC and Kirkpatrick & Lockhart LLP.

Sullivan is a dedicated member of a number of professional and civic organizations. He serves as an elected member of the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Bar Association, vice president of the Brehon Law Society (a Philadelphia-based organization of Irish-American lawyers and judges), and president of the Board of Directors of the Center City Opera Theater in Philadelphia. Sullivan is also an active member of numerous additional committees and sections of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and American bar associations.

A frequent lecturer and writer on legal issues, Sullivan is frequently called upon as a speaker and course planner for continuing legal education programs, including those offered by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. Sullivan's professional honors include being named a 2007 Lawyer on the Fast Track by The Legal Intelligencer, and being named a Super Lawyers Rising StarŪ by Thomson Reuters in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011, published annually in Philadelphia magazine.
