CSDA Elects 2007 Officers And Board Of Directors

The Concrete Sawing & Drilling Association (CSDA) is pleased to introduce its 2007 Officers and Board members who were elected at the 35th Annual CSDA Convention held February 22-27, 2007 in Hawaii.


Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) April 17, 2007 - Elected to serve a two-year term as President was Tom Stowell, Norton Penhall Diamond, Fullerton, California. Doug Walker, Atlantic Concrete Cutting, Inc., Mt. Holly, New Jersey was elected as Vice President. Judith O’Day, Terra Diamond Industrial, Salt Lake City, Utah was elected Secretary/Treasurer. Susan Hollingsworth, Holes Incorporated, Houston, Texas will serve as Past President and Patrick O’Brien continues to serve as Executive Director.

Six new Board members were elected, whose terms expire in 2009. They are Steve Garrison, Diamond B, Inc., Santa Fe Springs, California; Aaron Louisell, Diamond Concrete Sawing, Grand Rapids, Michigan; Lisa Mullen, Bluegrass Concrete Cutting, Inc., Greenville, Alabama; Rick Norland, Construction Solutions, LLC, Paola, Kansas; Ron Rapper, Husqvarna Construction Products, Olathe, Kansas and David Tuttle, Diamond Products, Inc., Elyria, Ohio.

The new Board joins the returning Board members, whose terms expire in 2008. They are Tim Beckman, Cutting Edge Services Corp., Batavia, Ohio; Ron Culgin, Pro Cut, Inc., Waltham, Massachusetts; Bennett Jones, Advanced Concrete Sawing, Inc., Roseville, Minnesota; George Major, Jr., Holes of San Antonio, Inc., San Antonio, Texas; Chris Priest, Sanders Saws, Honey Brook, Pennsylvania and Larz Smith, Concrete Penetrating Co., Dallas, Texas.

“Like my predecessors, I am fortunate to serve with a strong and dedicated Board of Directors and an equally dedicated group of committee chairs and members,” said Tom Stowell, president. “I am confident that we will develop many new opportunities to raise the awareness of and increase the growth of sawing and drilling industry while solidifying the value of CSDA membership.” Two key initiatives CSDA will focus on in 2007 include developing a certification program for member companies and a membership growth program to again double CSDA membership.

CSDA will also continue its focus on safety and training programs and working closely with OSHA under the Alliance program.

Tom Stowell was elected as the 27th president of CSDA, while a former president was honored at the CSDA Convention. Ted Page served as president from 1978-1979 and was the first recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. This new award was presented to Page during the award ceremony for rendering outstanding service to the sawing and drilling industry and the association.

The CSDA Board and committees meet quarterly with the next meetings scheduled in 2007 for May 17-18th in Nashville, Tennessee; August 23-24th in Phoenix, Arizona and November 8-9th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The 36th Annual CSDA Convention will be March 4-8, 2008
at Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada.
