    Tawfik Samir Narouz, who holds an MB, ChB in Psychiatry from Ain Shams Medical School in Egypt, followed by a Diploma in DPP/Psychiatry magna cum laude from Kings College, completed his residency program in psychiatry in April 2000, becoming a specialist psychiatrist. He then completed his PhD in Addiction Counseling with honors from Olwa University in 2012, becoming a certified addiction counselor through the state of Florida.

    As a consultant psychiatrist, Dr. Narouz does assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric patients. He also serves as a liaison to other medical specialties, teaches medical students, interns, and residents, implements the five-year mental health plan in his area, and has designed a rehab program to substance use disorder patients. He has worked as a psychiatrist in Egypt, Oman, UK, and the US and has expertise in general adult psychiatry.

    With plans to participate in addiction research in pursuit of discovering an innovative treatment, Dr. Narouz is hopeful of developing a vaccine against addiction within the next five years. He's written numerous articles in journals, peer-reviewed journals, and magazines on addiction since 2005, including most recently, 'Addiction, Redefined', in Egyptian Journal of Psychiatry. He's been awarded with an Honorary PhD from Panworld University in Australia in 2009 and was a nominee for Young Minds in Psychiatry through the American Psychiatric Association in 2007. Dr. Narouz is also an active with several organizations: American Psychiatric Association, American Society of Addiction Medicine, Massachusetts Psychiatric Academy, Harvard Medical School Graduate Association, International Substance Abuse Coalition, and Academy of Addiction Professionals.
