August 28, 2008 - London (Ask4loan): According to Chris Leslie, director of the New Local Government Network, this step would help in production of revenue from premier borrowers, which has been forced out of the market due to present market conditions.
This statement from Leslie, has come after the local authority chief, who was also the chief signatory of the letter, expressed their views to the Times newspaper, through it. The letter carried an outline of plan that is meant to be proposed soon. The much awaited undertaking is said to be a multi-million affair, as it would allow the council to borrow 'few million dollars' from the UK treasury.
It is assumed that this move will not affect complex mortgage cases or sub-prime recipients. Going by the words of Leslie, he hinted that the organisation will be giving loans providentially. After the meeting conducted by the mortgage lenders on Wednesday, the council declared that the mortgage lending rates has gone down by 27 percent for the month of July, if compared with the same month of the last year. Due to the consistent efforts of local authorities, it is believed that the reforms will be talked about in the meeting of UK cabinet, that is scheduled to be held on 7th September.
The local authorities have been played a vital role in the public banking functions, till the early years of the decade of 1980, but after banking authorities have completely taken over the entire functionality of the system.
