The first in the new range is the ECO One Switch: this is a cost effective energy saving device that enable users to remotely switch off all devices that would otherwise be left on standby. Typically these devices include TV’s, Video’s, Stereos, Satellite boxes etc.
The Eco one switch works by cutting the power to any devices plugged into it at the mains. It works with either a single device plugged directly into it or multiple devices by way of using a multi plug adapter. The remote control works using radio frequencies rather than infra red which means no direct line of sight is needed to switch the socket on or off. It even works through walls up to 20m away so is perfect where sockets are difficult to reach. The user simply presses one button to turn on all devices, and another button to switch them all off. Each remote has three on buttons and three off buttons and can control three separate ECO One switches from a single remote.
The Energy Saving Trust published figures show that the average household wastes £37 per annum on standby power, many of which are the devices that this switch directly addresses. At an RRP of £8.99 these units does pay for themselves in about five months.
