November 08, 2008 - CompeteSoft, Inc today announced their participation in the first online gaming site dedicated specifically for the Military gamers and their families. The Beta site, www.stripesgamer.com offers solo and team play in online console and PC games and is open to all---but targeted specifically at the needs and desires of the Active Military, Veterans, DoD Civilians and their families. CompeteSoft provided the systems and customization necessary to complement the specific make up of the military gamer community.

No one else has attempted to target this special community and bring a leisure/recreation service to the military gamers before in such a global and most importantly FREE package. The StripesGamer site allows gamers to play in solo (one vs one) or team games and tracks their performance for a season of play culminating in a playoff to crown a season champion. Unique to this site is the tagging of individuals and teams as belonging to a branch of the service (Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and Air Force) which will ultimately enable inter-service rivalries and competitions to take place online. The site will continue to expand and add new features to meet the requests of the military gamer community and has the ability to support any console, handheld or PC games that are popular within the military gamer community.
“We’ve experienced an enthusiastic response from the veteran gamers we have been introducing this site to. They GET IT, and they are helping to spread the word and bring over top-notch veteran gamers and their teams. Veterans who game on Xbox Live have been most enthusiastic in helping get the word out about the service. And we’re looking to have the same support from the Playstation and PC gaming community as well. We’re finding people on every post and base who are acting as beacons to the local gamer community. We’ve even been able to make contact with shipboard troops who have been building competitions within the ship”, said Hale.
